One of the most common questions we get from clients is: “How many cameras do I need, and which system should I choose?” It’s a great question — and the answer depends on your property size, budget and what you’re trying to protect.
Step 1: Identify Your Key Areas to Cover
Before choosing a package, walk around your property and identify all entry and exit points. Typical areas to cover include:
- Main gate and driveway entrance
- Front door and back door
- Garage and car park
- Blind spots and side walls
- Interior hallways (optional, for larger homes)
Step 2: Choose Between Analogue and IP Systems
Analogue CCTV is the more affordable option and is ideal for homes and small businesses with a straightforward coverage requirement. Image quality is good for standard surveillance needs, and the systems are highly reliable.
IP (Internet Protocol) cameras offer higher resolution (Full HD to 4K), smarter features like built-in analytics, and are better suited to larger properties or businesses where image detail matters — such as reading licence plates or identifying faces clearly.
Step 3: Choose the Right Camera Count
- 4 cameras— ideal for a small home with a simple layout. Covers main gate, front door, back and one side.
- 8 cameras— suited to medium homes, shops, or small offices. Covers all entry points and key blind spots.
- 16 cameras— recommended for large compounds, warehouses, offices, or commercial properties needing full coverage.
Our recommendation: When in doubt, start with 8 cameras. It’s the most popular choice for homes in Accra — covering all critical areas without overspending. You can always add more cameras later.
Step 4: Consider Storage and Remote Access
All our systems come with DVR or NVR recording units and allow remote viewing from your phone. Make sure your chosen package includes enough storage for at least 30 days of footage. We configure all systems with mobile app access as standard.
