when home security systems are taken for granted
It’s an undeniable fact that the desire to protect what is ours is inborn. For this reason, many Ghanaians look for a better way to protect their properties from buglers and impostors. Security, especially for that of homes has become a major concern with the increasing rate of theft and physical attacks in crime prone areas. Robert Kiyosaki once said “the only person who is going to give you security and the life you want is you”. This simply means security is everyone’s responsibility and should be everyone’s business.
Prosecuting Officer, Chief Inspector Nunoo -Mensah, told the court that, the accused, Denis Boakye Yiadom alias Asu, was part of a robbery gang attack on some residents at Zenu in the Kpone -Katamanso Municipality on November 06, 2018.
The prosecutor again told the court that, the accused together with other four accomplices attacked Victor Akoto, a retired military officer; Jenefer Honore, a nurse and Israel Boakye, a student.
They robbed them of their properties which including a Samsung Galaxy S6, an iPhone and electronic cash valued at ¢1,347.
Now the question is , was there any laid down security system to protect these victims and their properties, the answer is a big No. This exposes how unconcerned we are as citizens when it comes to home security, we are only brought to our knees only when we are robbed and attacked in our homes. This explains why Security should never be denied or postponed because security denied or postponed is safety delayed.
